Igbo Initiation Mask
This attractive mask would have been worn by a young boy during an Igbo initiation masquerade. At only 8.5″ tall it is very compact. It probably dates to the 1950’s/60’s. With its pleasing expression, subtle coloration and harmonious curvilinear motifs this mask would fit harmoniously in almost any setting.
