Ngata Necklace with Engraved Symbols
Copper alloy necklace from the Mongo region. Puddle-cast and hammered into form, with engraved symbols on one side. Locally called bongombwa, these necklaces were worn by noble women as a sign of prestige and were often closed onto the neck of a woman for the rest of her life.
