Animated Loko Fetish Figure
Personal fetish, possibly for a hunter, from the Landogo people (also known as Loko) of Sierra Leone. The Loko are a Mande people living in the Northern Province of Sierra Leone. This figure, with its much-handled surface and traces of European pigments, was field collected among the Loko more than a decade ago by a reliable and trusted source. This is an unusual representation with a sweet expression and pleasing sense of animation. $600
