Dinka Headrest with Hide Repair
Wooden headrest with animal hide repairs from the Dinka of South Sudan. This was a portable piece of furniture; the ear-like ends are for a carrying strap. African stools, and larger headrests, are typically three-legged because on uneven natural ground and earthen floors, three legs will always sit steady, whereas four legs will rock.
