Authentic Art and Ethnographic Objects From Africa / Custom Mounting Services
This expressive Makua mask was crisply carved from a light, firm wood sometime in the 1960s. It features facial hair made using human hair. Its coiffure, now lost, was a section of animal hide with hair tacked onto the scalp. This mask was performed in costume, with the performer seeing out of the eyes of the mask. $400
