Authentic Art and Ethnographic Objects From Africa / Custom Mounting Services
In former times, mature Pokot women wore neck rings known as tokokou. Beads for these necklaces were made from segmented stems of the African broom fern (Asparagus virgatus). Although in the same family as the vegetable, the two plants look nothing alike.
This beautiful, vintage tokokou from northwest Kenya comes with a custom mount celebrating its beauty and craftsmanship. $375
